Japanese 6-panels screen. Painting in ink and colors on gold leaves of a scene of life representing a procession where men in clothes and armor wear palanquins richly decorated around a castle. The particularly well-drawn characters with different expressions of faces are remarkable of precision. The screen presents a scene of life where many characters go to different occupations. The ensemble is of a great realism and characteristic of the Tosa school retracing the life of ancient Japan. Origin: Japan. Period: Edo 18th century. Dimensions: 280xH125cm (110"xH49").
