A Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Mahogany and Ormulu Mounted Meuble d’appui after Henry Dasson.

A striking and extremely elegant pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. mahogany marquetery and parquetery ormulu mounted meuble d’appui.
Each meuble d’appuie is raised on tapered feet with ormulu mounts.
The bottom apron is bordered with a reeded ormulu trim.
The doors with a guilt bronze keyhole escutcheon are mounted by richely chased ormulu swagging floral garlands, and decorated with beautiful and wonderfully executed inlaid marquetery with floral details and tied ribbons, framed by an elegant dart ormulu border.
The side panels display a lovely inlaid diamond parquetery design.
Intricately detailed pierced ormulu bands extend along the tops and display beautiful scroled foliate rinceaux designs with fine leaves, grape clusters and centered by charming Bacchanalian cherubs.
Above is the original white carrara marble top with cut corners and fine molted borders.
