The art of “Cloisonné” that makes the “Talisman” cutlery from Christofle so elegant. This ancient technique brings together silver with lacquer, resulting in a particularly elegant form of tableware. This initially entails soldering decorative silver stripes onto the bare metal of the cutlery. The Chinese lacquer is then embedded in the compartments in-between. During the firing afterwards the lacquer sinks down, so that the cells have to be refilled on a number of occasions. This procedure is repeated up to sixteen times. This intricate procedure not only makes the « Talisman » cutlery by Christofle very attractive, it makes it very strong and perfect for everyday use.
The set is in excellent condition! This set would retail for over $14,000!
