The art of “Cloisonné” that makes the “Talisman” cutlery from Christofle so elegant. This ancient technique brings together silver with lacquer, resulting in a particularly elegant form of tableware. This initially entails soldering decorative silver stripes onto the bare metal of the cutlery. The Chinese lacquer is then embedded in the compartments in-between. During the firing afterwards the lacquer sinks down, so that the cells have to be refilled on a number of occasions. This procedure is repeated up to sixteen times. This intricate procedure not only makes the “Talisman” cutlery by Christofle very attractive, it makes it very strong and perfect for everyday use.
The set is in excellent condition! This set would retail for over $14,000!
