Édouard Drouot est un artiste français , connu pour ses sculptures en bronze et en marbre , de scènes allégoriques et mythologiques .
Né le 3 avril 1859 , à Sommevoire en France , il étudie avec Mathurin Moreau , à l’École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux- Arts de Paris , et expose au Salon de Paris , à partir de 1889 .
Créant parfois des œuvres animalières et orientalistes , les sculptures d’ Édouard Drouot , qu’il s’agisse d’animaux ou de personnes , se caractérisent par un sens du mouvement et une touche expressive .
Aujourd’hui , le travail de Drouot se trouve , entre autres , dans les collections de l’Institut Courtauld de Londres et du Musée d’ Art de l’université de l’Indiana à Bloomington .
L’artiste meurt en 1945 à Paris .

Edouard Drouot was a French artist , known for his bronze and marble sculptures , of allegorical and mythological scenes .
Born April 3 , 1859 in Sommevoire , France , he studied with Mathurin Moreau at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris and exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1889 .
Sometimes creating animal and orientalist works , Drouot’s sculptures , whether of animals or people , are characterized by a sense of movement and an expressive touch .
Today , Drouot’s work can be found, among others , in the collections of the Courtauld Institute in London and the Indiana University Museum of Art in Bloomington .
The artist died in 1945 in Paris .
