Originally from Concarneau, Alfred Guillou met the painter Eugène Isabey at a very young age, who would mark his destiny as a painter.
It was in Alexandre Cabanel's studio in Paris that he continued his training as a painter with his friend Régnault, where he also met Cormon.
He devotes himself to landscape, seascape and portrait painting, he also likes scenes from everyday life.
