Alfred Jean Foretay was a Swiss illustrator and sculptor born in 1861 in Morges and died in 1944.
He studied sculpture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the studio of Alexandre Falguière. He exhibited at the Salon of the Society of French Artists where he was awarded an honorable mention in 1891 and a gold medal.
His works can be monumental or smaller subjects. Art Nouveau is his preferred style.
