Attributed to André-Antoine Ravrio, an elegant pair of chased and silvered bronze candlesticks. Octagonal shafts, on bases with claw feet and pedestals with friezes of water leaves.
This model was created by André Antoine Ravrio around 1808 and provided several copies for the Château de Fontainebleau and the Château de Compiègne.
Beautiful French work from the Empire period around 1808-1810, which we attribute to the famous bronzier André Antoine Ravrio.

André-Antoine Ravrio, born October 23, 1759 in Paris and died in the same city on December 4, 18141, is a French sculptor, bronzier, gilder, author-composer, and songwriter.
Having been accepted as a master founder in 1777, Ravrio set up his own business in 1790. He became famous by supplying bronze furniture for a prestigious clientele, notably the Emperor Napoleon I.
His cousin, the painter Henri-François Riesner, painted his portrait, which is now kept in Paris at the Louvre Museum.

Awarded the title of Master Foundryman in 1777, Ravrio set up his own business in 1790. He became famous for supplying furniture bronzes to a prestigious clientele, including Emperor Napoleon 1st.
