Lille Porcelain and Gilt Bronze Wall Lights – Ifn XIXth Century

Availability:

IN STOCK

Elegant pair of wall sconces, in Lille porcelain and gilded bronze, decorated with hand-painted scenes representing animated landscapes.
Their rocaille decor, with asymmetrical scrolls and naturalistic motifs, as well as the painted scenes inspired by the XVIIIth century, recall the taste for elegance and fantasy specific to the Louis XV style.
The finely chiseled bronze light arms, decorated with foliage and graceful curves, are typical of this style, widely adopted in the XIX1st century under Napoleon III, the period when these sconces were probably made.
