Arman is a French-American artist, born on November 17, 1928 in Nice and died on October 22, 2005 in New York. Painter, sculptor and visual artist, he is known for his "accumulations", his "inclusions", made from manufactured objects, found objects, which question the consumer society. He is one of the founding members of the New Realists movement. 

This table is a work resulting from the decomposition of a cello, a musical instrument found in several of the artist's sculptures.
