Carved and gilded wooden barometer known as a “wedding” barometer according to Torricelli, from the Louis XVI period. XVI (1774-1793), XVIIIth century.
Decorated in carved and gilded wood with a cushioning symbolizing love represented by two doves surrounded by a laurel wreath decorated with small flowers.
Signed “Rue Neuve Saint-Eustache No. 24”.
Barometer according to Torricelli (1608-1647). Thermometer according to Réaumur (1683-1757).
