Michele De Lucchi's First chair revolves around the theme of the atom and electronics. Its stylized circular backrest represents the gravitation of electrons (armrests) around the nucleus (backrest plate).
This seat can also evoke satellites revolving around their sun.
The structure is in gray metal, the seat in black lacquered wood, the reclining backrest in blue wooden disc and the armrests in the shape of black spheres made of ABS.
The "First" armchair is a direct descendant of the Memphis design movement. The original versions have a marking under the seat "Memphis Milano, Michele De Lucchi, 198x, Made in Italy".
