A floating market scene in the Bay of Naples
The scene takes place on the water. The painter immerses us in the magical setting of the Bay of Naples.
In one of the boats, women accompanied by their children protected from the sun by an awning, in the other, fishermen offering their fish for sale.
The scene is lively and colorful.
A classic and romantic technique
The work is bathed in beautiful Mediterranean light and a magnificent perspective with Vesuvius in the background.
The rendering of light, the reflections of the sky on the water and the treatment of the characters are magnified by the impeccable technique of this neoclassical painter.
