Edmond Lempereur, a personal touch of great modernity
From Claude Monet, whom he admired, he retains his impressionist sensitivity in the treatment of light. A painter of suggestion rather than description, his drawing prefers a broad, brushed and unctuous touch where many colors intermingle. We can travel through the meanders of this very personal touch.

The palette in a range of blue, green and beige, punctuated by a few touches of bright colors.

The banks of the Marne or the Seine, a favorite subject for the artist
On the banks of the Marne or the Seine, elegant women accompanied by children are preparing to set off for a boat trip. A few sailboats are setting off on the water.

The painter brings the surface of the water to life with reflections of the sky, its clouds and the surrounding vegetation.
A balance is found through a play of vertical and horizontal lines. The masts of the sailboats soaring towards the sky, the surrounding trees and the characters counterbalance the wide horizontal areas of the boats, the river and the shore.
