Carpentero is a Belgian painter from Antwerp where he was born in 1820 and died in 1874.
Carpentero was a pupil of Nicaise de Keyser painter also born in Antwerp and who studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Ferdinand de Braekeleer. Like his master he painted many portraits, landscapes and rural scenes very influenced by the Flemish painting of the XVIIth century.
