Born in Pouilly sur Saône in 1869, Léonce Pelletier was a post-impressionist painter trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Dijon and in the studio of Gustave Moreau in Paris where he associated with Henri Matisse.
He was once a drawing teacher at the National School of Decorative Arts in Nice.
Léonce Pelletier is a painter of landscapes, still lifes and genre scenes.
His paintings are regularly sold at auction.
