Pair of large Louis XVI period armchairs XVI stamped LC Carpentier in molded and carved lacquered beech with a queen-shaped back, tapered fluted legs.
Louis Charles Carpentier received master on July 26, 1752, official carpenter of Duke Philippe d'Orléans
Louis Charles Carpentier's workshop was located on Rue de Clerc in Paris. He worked regularly for the Prince of Condé, supplying him with numerous seats for the Palais Bourbon, the Château de Chantilly and other residences. A little later, Carpentier became the official carpenter of Duke Philippe de d'Orléans. He supplied important furniture for various châteaux, including that of Henoville in the Oise.
