Pair of large molded and carved walnut armchairs from the Regency period circa 1720

An important pair of large armchairs with flat backs and wide seats in molded walnut and carved with foliage on the front crosspieces and the heads of the armrests, the feet ending in animal hooves. The quality of our armchairs, the general movement are reminiscent of a Lyonnais work from the Regency period.

Very beautiful French work, probably from Lyon, Regency period around 1720.

Dimensions: Height 99 cm - Width 68 cm - Depth 56 cm - seat height 43 cm.

Our armchairs are in good general condition, they have been completely dismantled, glued and pegged again, two restorations are to be noted in the feet and internal reinforcements in the belt have been positioned. The old-fashioned strap fittings and the horsehair stuffing have just been done. This pair of armchairs is covered with a magnificent woven Jacquard with floral patterns in the colors red, pink and gold.
