Raymond SUBES is a decorative artist, creator, and artistic ironworker, born in Paris in 1891 and died in 1970.
He studied at the Boulle school and the National School of Decorative Arts. He collaborated with the greatest decorators of his time: Ruhlmann, Leleu, Dunand, Mayodon.
He made the stair railings for the liner "Iles-de-France" 1926, the Atlantic and the Normandie. He designed the ironwork for the Palais de Tokyo, the Banque de France, etc. He created many wrought iron pieces of furniture: tables, consoles, stools, sideboards.
Our pair of tables is made of gold leaf metal and its top is made of travertine. They probably date from the 1970s.
