An elegant pair of covered porcelain and gilt bronze vases from the Napoleon III period. These exceptional pieces feature a deep cobalt blue background, enhanced by rich, finely chiseled and gilt bronze ornamentation.
Each vase features a delicately hand-painted scene in a central medallion: on one side, bucolic depictions with figures in a romantic landscape, and on the other, meticulously detailed natural landscapes. The scenes are framed by gilded arabesques and intricately embossed motifs.
The finely sculpted and richly crafted openwork gilt bronze handles add an extra touch of refinement, while the square pedestal rests on finely decorated claw feet, testifying to the exceptional craftsmanship of the period.
