Painter, sculptor and poet, Alain ARNAUD was born in Provence and began writing at the age of 15. He studied for three years at the Beaux-Arts in Avignon, a period that was one of the happiest of his life, then in Paris thanks to the support of his teacher who convinced his parents to let him study in Paris. But very quickly he felt in a straitjacket, his freedom of creation was thwarted: at the end of the first year he left school and did not take the exam: he would not tell his parents anything. For two years he led a life of freedom by drawing and creating poems. A new intervention by his teacher with his parents could not convince them and they refused to let him follow this life of an artist and cut off his supplies: he would cut ties with his family. He would never see them again and thirty years later would refuse their inheritance which he would leave to his brother.
