A Louis XV period (1724 - 1774) commode.

Proposed by
Rosewood, amaranth and exotic wood curved shape commode with a floral marquetry opening with two drawers mounted "sans traverse", on curved legs. Gilt bronze ornamentation. Stamped "B. Durand". Holding the stamp "JME" Jurande des Menuisiers-Ebénistes. Marble top "Brèche d'Alep".A France. 18th century. Craftsman Bon Durand was appointed "Maître" the 18th February 1761, his stamp can be found on the pieces of furniture from the periods of Louis XV, Transition and Louis XVI. An important cabinet stamped by this master is at the Waddesdon Manor.
