A century of discoveries in Biron

Born in 1925 in the heart of the Saint-Ouen Flea Market, the Biron Market celebrated its centenary this year. This milestone provided an opportunity to delve into a history as diverse as the treasures it houses: from the makeshift shacks of "Biffinville" to its elegant shop windows today, Biron has witnessed the passage of ragpickers, passionate antique dealers, and all of Paris in search of rarities. Nicknamed the "Faubourg Saint-Honoré of the Flea Market," it inspired Dalí, Picasso, and Breton, becoming an open-air museum where masterpieces and curiosities mingle. While the anniversary exhibition retraced these transformations, the centenary primarily serves as a reminder of how Biron embodies the living memory of the Flea Market, made up of generations of merchants, unique objects, and stories gleaned between the aisles. A popular and precious heritage, now enshrined in Parisian legend.
