Poster to promote the tourist town of Luchon, in the Pyrenees, as well as the possibility for Parisians to reach it by train via the Orleans and Midi railways.
Bagnères-de-Luchon, commonly called Luchon, is nicknamed "The Queen of the Pyrenees".
Both spa and ski resort, Luchon-Superbagnères, it is located in the town of Saint-Aventin. In 1759, the State sent Baron Antoine Mergret d'Etigny, Intendant of Gascogne, to Luchon.  It is the beginning of the development of the city. The road makes it easier to reach Luchon and the thermal baths will see many celebrities of the time parade. Launched by the Empress Eugenie, the fashion for thermal cures attracted Count Henry Russell, Lamartine, José-Maria de Heredia, Prince Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte, Edmond Rostand, Gustave Flaubert, Guy de Maupassant, Octave Mirbeau, to the Pyrenees, Sacha Guitry or François Mauriac who will be among these most illustrious guests. The arrival of the train, the construction of the casino further develop the popularity of the city. The Tour de France has taken its summer quarters there since its creation.
In 1922, the opening of the Grand Hôtel de Superbagnères, linked by a cogwheel train and today by a cable car, completed the spa town with a winter sports resort.  A golf course and a flying club make the city deserve its nickname of "Queen of the Pyrenees" given by Vincent de Chausenque in 1834 in his book "The Pyrenees or hiking trips". Finally, throughout France, today Luchon mineral water is marketed. To see above the city the Hospice de France and the Lys Valley.
Edmond Rostand (1868-1918), playwright, spent his holidays there and alluded to the spa in Cyrano de Bergerac.
Alfons Mucha also spelled Alphonse Mucha, born in Eibenschütz on July 24, 1860 and died in Prague on July 14, 1939, is a poster artist, illustrator, graphic designer, painter, and teacher of Czechoslovak art, spearheading the Art Nouveau style. The only artist available from her printer when Sarah Bernhardt asked him on December 24, 1894 to produce the advertising poster for Gismonda, the play she was to play at the Renaissance Theater, Mucha took up the challenge and from the morning of January 1, 1895, Paris is covered with large posters which are so successful that amateurs do not hesitate to cut them out. After this success, Sarah Bernhardt hired him for a six-year contract. His loose style earned him some notoriety.
