Karl Kauba (CARL KAUBA )

Ce sculpteur autrichien est né à Vienne en 1865

Ses professeurs étaient Karl Waschmann (1848-1905), connu pour ses sculptures en ivoire et ses plaquettes de portraits de célébrités contemporaines, et Stefan Schwartz (1851-1924), qui exposa à Paris, notamment l'Exposition Universelle de 1900 où il remporta une médaille d'or.
Les bronzes complexes de Kauba, importés aux États-Unis entre 1895 et 1912, ont été coulés aux Roman Bronze Works.

Kauba faisait partie de la tradition de la sculpture en bronze polychrome.
Il y avait plusieurs types de patines sur une seule statue: il pouvait rendre la couleur de la peau de daim, des chemises aux teintes variées, des couvertures, des plumes ...

Karl Kauba (CARL KAUBA)

This sculptor Austrian was born in Vienna in 1865.

His teachers were Karl Waschmann (1848-1905), known for his ivory sculptures and plaques of portraits of contemporary celebrities, and Stefan Schwartz (1851-1924), who exhibited in Paris, notably the 'Universal Exhibition of 1900 where he won a gold medal.

Kauba's intricate bronzes, imported to the United States between 1895 and 1912, were cast at the Roman Bronze Works. Kauba was part of the tradition of polychrome bronze sculpture.

There were several types of patina on a single statue: it could render the color of deerskin, shirts of various shades, blankets, feathers ...
