Eugène Aizelin (1821 - 1902)
Eugène-Antoine François Aizelin (1821-1902) dit Eugène Aizelin , est un sculpteur français .
Fils du dessinateur Claude - Jacques Aizelin , il entre à l'École des beaux-arts en 1844 où il est l'élève des sculpteurs Jules Ramey et Auguste Dumont .
Aizelin participe aux Salons de 1852 à 1897 et aux Expositions Universelles de Paris en 1878 , 1889 et 1900 .
Il obtient plusieurs récompenses : une troisième médaille au Salon de 1859 , une deuxième médaille en 1861 , une troisième médaille à l'Exposition Universelle de 1878 .
Son modèle en plâtre du groupe Mignon est exposé au Salon de 1880 , le marbre est exposé l'année suivante , et le bronze sera envoyé à l'Exposition Universelle de 1889 à laquelle il est récompensé par une médaille d'or .
Aizelin reçoit des commandes pour des monuments parisiens : le théâtre du Châtelet , l'Opéra Garnier , l'Hôtel-de-Ville de Paris , le palais du Louvre et les églises de la Trinité et de Saint-Roch .
Ses œuvres furent principalement éditées en bronze par le fondeur Ferdinand Barbedienne .
Aizelin est nommé chevalier de la Légion d'honneur en 1867 , et promu officier du même ordre en 1892 .

Eugène-Antoine François Aizelin (1821-1902) known as Eugène Aizelin, was a French sculptor .
Son of the draftsman Claude - Jacques Aizelin , he entered the School of Fine Arts in 1844 where he was a pupil of the sculptors Jules Ramey and Auguste Dumont .
Aizelin participated in the Salons from 1852 to 1897 and in the Universal Exhibitions of Paris in 1878 , 1889 and 1900 .
He obtained several awards : a third medal at the Salon of 1859 , a second medal in 1861 , a third medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1878 .
