Air Orient is a former French airline which operated from 1928 and which is one of the companies that gave birth to Air France in 1933. As its name suggests, it was specialized for the Orient and the Far East. in the 1930s, especially the French colonies. A weekly service took passengers and mail from Marseille to Saigon in ten and a half days, and after seventeen stopovers.

The winged seahorse, known as "the shrimp", was the symbol of Air Orient in the 1930s, before it participated in the creation of Air France in 1933 and the winged seahorse became the symbol of the entire Air France company.
