L' homme nu , simplement vêtu d'un pagne , s'exclamant , repose sur une terrasse naturaliste , richement ciselée , à souche fleurie , avec glaive et ceinture .
Sculpture à patine brune nuancée .
Signature du sculpteur " GEORGES BAREAU " , en creux , sur la terrasse .
Sculpture datée " 1894 " sous la signature du sculpteur .

Georges Bareau (1866 - 1931)
Georges Marie Valentin Bareau , dit Georges Bareau (1866-1931) est un sculpteur français .
Il entre à l'École des Beaux - Arts de Paris où il est l'élève de Charles Gauthier et de Gabriel - Jules Thomas .
Il expose au Salon à partir de 1889 .
En 1893 , il obtient une troisième médaille au Salon de la Société des Artistes Français puis , l’année suivante une médaille de Vermeil à l’Exposition Internationale et Coloniale de Lyon .
On lui octroie le prix du Salon en 1895 , il est classé hors-concours à l’issue de l’Exposition Universelle de Bruxelles de 1897 .
Une médaille d’or à l’Exposition Universelle de 1900 à Paris couronne définitivement la carrière de Georges Bareau .
Il est promu au grade d’officier de la Légion d'honneur en 1906 .
Georges Bareau meurt en 1931 en léguant l'ensemble de ses œuvres à la ville de Saint-Nazaire .

Georges Bareau (1866-1931)
Georges Marie Valentin Bareau , known as Georges Bareau (1866-1931) was a French sculptor .
He entered the École des Beaux - Arts in Paris where he was a pupil of Charles Gauthier and Gabriel-Jules Thomas .
He exhibited at the Salon from 1889 .
In 1893 , he obtained a third medal at the Salon of the Society of French Artists then , the following year , a vermeil medal at the International and Colonial Exhibition in Lyon .
He was awarded the Salon prize in 1895 , he was classified out of competition at the end of the Brussels Universal Exhibition of 1897 .
A gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900 in Paris definitively crowns the career of Georges Bareau .
He was promoted to the rank of Officer of the Legion of Honor in 1906 .
Georges Bareau died in 1931 bequeathing all of his works to the town of Saint-Nazaire .
